What is Narrative Therapy?
Narrative Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the stories individuals tell about their lives and meanings they attach to those stories. Overall, narrative therapy is a collaborative and empowering approach that focuses on helping individuals rewrite their stories, create new meanings, and move towards a more preferred and fulfilling life. In Narrative therapy, the therapist works collaboratively with the client to explore and deconstruct dominant narratives that may be causing them distress or limiting their potential. By questioning and challenging these narratives in a safe therapeutic environment, individuals can gain new perspectives and alternative ways of understanding themselves and their experiences.
